THE CEREBRUM (The FOREBRAIN)

The Cerebrum is the biggest area of our BRAIN.. It is concerned with the functions like thinking & memory.. It is divided into two HEMISPHERES.. The Left Cerebrum controls the right part of our body while the Right Cerebrum controls the left part.. Each Cerebral HEMISPHERE is divided into four basic parts // area known as LOBES::-

è FRONTAL LOBE:: Divided into two parts SUPERIOR FRONTAL LOBE & INFERIOR FRONTAL LOBE.. Overall associated with concept,, planning,, reasoning,, organizing & problem solving.. The front is called the SUPERIOR FRONTAL LOBE or PREFRONTAL LOBE,, responsible for cognitive functions like behaviour,, emotions & determination of personality.. The INFERIOR FRONTAL LOBE exists just behind the SUPERIOR FRONTAL LOBE.. Processes like concept, perception & reasoning etc are the responsibility of INFERIOR FRONTAL LOBE.. Nerve cells that produce movement are lying in this area..

è PARIETAL LOBE:: Associated with movement orientation & perception of stimuli.. It contains the primary sensory cortex,, controls sensations like touch.. There is a association area behind sensory cortex that controls fine sensations which judges the texture,, weight,, size // shapes..

è OCCIPITAL LOBE:: Associated with visual processing, processes vital information.. It is responsible for visual reception,, also contains association area that helps in visual recognition of shapes & colours..

è TEMPORAL LOBE:: Associated with perception & recognition of auditory stimuli, memory & speech.. There are two TEMPORAL LOBES one on each HEMISPHERES,, located just above the level of our ears.. They allow a person to tell one smell from another & one sound from another LOBE.. It also helps in sorting information & also responsible for memorizing things.. RIGHT TEMPORAL LOBE is responsible for visual memory,, picture & videos,, faces etc..,, while the LEFT TEMPORAL LOBE is responsible for verbal memory such as names,, words..

To understand & know about the complexity of human behaviour,, first of all we have to understand the physical structure of the BRAIN,, which provides the basic fundamentals & insight of behaviour.. Our BRAIN acts as a control center of our body by gathering & processing  various information and release the best possible output.. All this processing has done with the coordination of various parts (area) of BRAIN.. Every BRAIN area has an associated function which are predefined..

Our BRAIN has two basic parts::

1. The Cerebrum (The Forebrain)

2. The Cerebellum (The Little Brain)

The cerebrum is divided into four parts / areas known as LOBES::

1. Frontal Lobe

2. Parietal Lobe

3. Occipital Lobe

4. Temporal Lobe

Frontal Lobe has two parts, Superior Frontal Lobe & Inferior Frontal Lobe..

Our BRAIN is the most complex,, but amazing part of our body.. It is divided into two parts (called ““HEMISPHERES””) – the Left HEMISPHERE & the Right HEMISPHERE . Our BRAIN is divided into two HEMISPHERES (Parts) by a longitudinal fissure.. Both HEMISPHERES are identical as far as appearance is concerned.. But when we talked about the functions,, both behave differently..

When we talk about a person being left brained or right brained,, we actually refer to the dominant HEMISPHERE of his / her BRAIN.. Each of these HEMISPHERES have certain functions to their credits,, based on which,, we can determine the dominant HEMISPHERE of the BRAIN..

Amazingly,, the Right HEMISPHERE is responsible for the functions of the left part of our body,, while the Left HEMISPHERE is responsible for the functions of the right part of our body.. It means that the right handed persons are left BRAIN dominant & left handed persons are right BRAIN dominant..

MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE

Neurons have the major control of our intelligence development.. Dermatoglyphics Analysis can help us to discover the development of our neurons & understand our innate strength and weakness.. Even Albert Einstein has used only 30% of his innate intelligence,, the rest is developing intelligence.. Now,, the question is,, how can parents & educators help children to develop their intelligence??

Before Dr.. Howard Gardner has proposed the theory of Multiple Intelligence in his book Frames of Mind in 1983.. The intelligence development of children completely depended on the expectations of their parents & educators.. In other words,, the expectations of their parents & teachers has a huge impact on how well the children perform.. In 1970's,, teachers are requested to show positive attitude towards all students in western countries.. These resolutions have encouraged a lot of students.. There was,, however a few theories have developed about intelligence..

Dr.. Gardner's Frames of Mind around Multiple Intelligence has had a profound impact on thinking & practice in education.. His theory suggests that there are a number of distinct forms of intelligence that each individual possesses in varying degrees.. Dr.. Gardner points out that the different intelligences represent not only different content domains but also learning modalities.. His further implication of the theory is,, assessment of abilities should measure all forms of intelligence..

In Dr.. Gardner's theory,, he also stresses the importance of :
1. Ability of problem solving..
2. Cultural Influence..
         AND
3. Ability to look forward to new challenges..

The Congenital Learning Potential is measured by the quantity of the neurons in our BRAIN.. It is been estimated that the Human BRAIN has around 100 billion neurons.. Those who have less than 100 billion neurons are not necessarily less intelligent than those who have more than 100 billion neurons.. The quantity & quality are not the measurement of intelligence.. Intelligence is rather a measure of a person's ability to utilize his / her knowledge or potential.. Thus intelligence cannot be compared.. Congenital Learning Potential only has a 30% impact on overall achievement.. An educational & personal planner has a important role on pushing the Congenital Learning Potential to its best.. Those with less than 100 billion neurons,, however,, might have facing difficulties in learning or understanding the things..

Yet with Dermatoglyphics (D M I A) taken at a very young age,, one can properly develop his / her intelligence or sharpen their skills in the right area.. It is believed that those with less amount of neurons can have their own achievement if they put in the effort..

Intelligence development at ages 0 to 6:

Visual,, Auditory & Sensory Development: To encourage these senses,, parents & guardians must make sure that the children,, from birth to age 3,, are exposed to a variety of colors,, shapes,, sounds & textures..

Strengthen their Senses: It is important to encourage children from age 4 to 8 to engage in different activities to become more aggressive in seeing more,, hearing more & learning more..

Internalizing the Senses: At the age 9 to 16,, it is the prime time to train the BRAIN to work properly.. It is important to figure the right learning style & methods than to achieve a higher score..

LEFT BRAIN & RIGHT BRAIN

Roger Wolcott Sperry won the 1981 Nobel Prize in Medicine for his work with SPLIT BRAIN Research.. His theory conclude that Left Hemisphere of the BRAIN is the one with speech,, which the Right Hemisphere is a conscious system in its own right,, perceiving,, thinking,, remembering,, reasoning etc..

Today science has also proved that data & digital processing is mostly the activities of the Left BRAIN.. Left BRAIN thinking is all about logic,, number patterns & detail.. On the other hand,, the Right BRAIN thinking is more about feeling,, emotions,, imagination & big picture possibilities.. Yet the two Hemispheres work together,, are connected & share information through the bridge between the two Hemispheres..

LEFT BRAIN                                              RIGHT BRAIN
Objective Thinking                                       Subjective Thinking
