Our BRAIN is perhaps the most fascinating organ in the human body.. It controls everything from breathing to emotions to learning.. If someone works with children,, here are some facts that might helpful,, from how the BRAIN affects learning to facts about memory to interesting facts about the BRAIN that you can share with other kids.. Here is some interesting facts about how the BRAIN develops,, what can affect that development,, & how learning is impacted..

Children who take music lessons show a considerable increase in the ability to learn..
Children who learn two languages before the age of five have a different BRAIN structure than children who learn only one language..
One study looked at students in New York & showed that those who ate lunches that did not include artificial flavours,, preservatives & dyes did 14% better on IQ tests than the students who ate lunches with these additives..
Studies have shown that child abuse can affect the BRAIN development & can negatively affect learning..
Throughout life,, mental activity promotes the production of new Neurons in our BRAIN..
The human BRAIN continues to grow until about age 18..
Parents & teachers who read aloud & talk often to young children are promoting BRAIN development..
If a child is in a stimulating environment,, he / she have a 25% greater ability to learn.. Conversely,, if he / she are in an environment with low stimulation,, he / she have 25% less ability to learn..
A study shows that when people are learning new things,, their BRAINs change very quickly..

Some interesting facts about our BRAIN:
The average adult human BRAIN weighs three pounds,, has a texture like firm jelly & is made up of 75 percent water..
Every time our heart beats,, our arteries carry 20 to 25 percent of our blood to the BRAIN.. The harder we think the more oxygen & fuel our BRAIN will use from our blood – up to 50 percent..
Every time we recall a memory or have a new thought,, our BRAIN creates a connection.. The average number of thoughts a person has each day is 70,,000..
There are 100 billion neurons (nerve cells) in the BRAIN,, but they make up only 10 percent of the BRAIN.. These neurons branch out to 100 trillion-plus trigger points,, forming what experts call a “neuron forest..” Size doesn’t matter in the BRAIN.. There is no evidence that a larger BRAIN is smarter than a smaller BRAIN..
There are 100,,000 miles of blood vessels in the BRAIN.. The distance around the world at the equator is 24,,900 miles..
A joint study by Harvard University,, Dartmouth College & the University of Aberdeen in Scotl& found the parts of the BRAIN that control “task-unrelated thought” (such as daydreaming) are almost always active when the BRAIN is at rest..
The rate at which our BRAIN processes information can range from 0..5 meters/second (about 1 mile per hour) to 120 meters/second (268 MPH)..

The term “MIND” comes from the old english word “gemynd”.. The word “MIND” was used to refer all mental faculties,, thoughts,, feelings & memory,, developed gradually over the 15th century.. Researchers estimate that our BRAIN produces 12 thousand to 50 thousand thoughts every day,, depends how deep an individual thinks..

Sensations & feelings,, perceptions & memories are included in our conscious MIND inside of current awareness.. The pre conscious MIND includes the thoughts that are strike at a moment but easily draw in the conscious MIND.. The subconscious MIND is the psychic activities that operate below the awareness level.. It has proven by the researchers that particular smell or sound or everyday sight views can activate our subconscious MIND.. MIND control is the unethical use of manipulating techniques to persuade one person to conform the wishes of another one,, firstly used & recorded in Korean War..

During the famous Milgram Experiment done in 1961,, 65% of the volunteers told that what they thought was a fatal dose of electric shocks to someone when told to do so.. Even though less than 1% of the volunteers said that they would in a pre experiment survey.. This experiment showed that our MIND & BRAIN does not necessarily operate based on our personality or behaviour but on the roles we are asked to play to make our family & society moves smoothly..

Our BRAIN is the most complicated & mysterious thing in whole universe.. We know more about the universe than the BRAIN.. Our BRAIN consists of approximately 100 billion neurons (which is as many cells as there are stars in the Milky Way).. Each neuron has approximately between 1,,000 and 10,,000 synapses,, equalling about 1 quadrillion synapses.. If all the neurons in the human BRAIN were lined up,, they would stretch 600 miles.. As a comparison,, an octopus has 300,,000 neurons,, a honeybee has 950,,000,, and a jellyfish has no BRAIN at all.. Our BRAIN has a surface area of approximately 2400 Sqcm.. When we awake,, our BRAIN generates enough energy to light up a bulb.. There are more than 100,,000 chemical reactions happening in the human BRAIN every second..

Our BRAIN uses around 20% of our body’s total blood,, contains 60% of fat & around 20% of the total oxygen in our body.. During early pregnancy,, around 2..5 Lac neurons produced every minute.. After birth within a year our BRAIN will three times larger in size.. An adult BRAIN weighs about 3..5 pounds.. The sperm whale has the largest BRAIN of all animals,, weighing up to 20 pounds.. Our BRAIN has around 1 Lac miles of blood vessels..

There is a similarity between birds & us in terms of control of body.. The left side of our BRAIN controls speech,, while in birds the left side of their BRAIN controls singing.. Scientists identified that the cerebellum is the part of our BRAIN that prevents us from tickling ourselves.. It also helps us distinguish between expected & unexpected sensations..

An early Greek physician,, Alcmaeon in 6th century B..C..,, was the first to claim that the BRAIN,, not the heart,, is the central organ of sensation and thought.. The first known writing about the BRAIN was found in ancient Sumeria around 4000 B..C..

Eduard Hitzig (1839-1907) and Gustav (1838-1927) discovered that the right side of the BRAIN controls the left side of the body and vice versa.. Wilder Penfield (1891-1976) created a drawing that became known as a homunculus,, which shows what we would look like if our body parts were as big as the BRAIN space they take up.. The homunculus has huge eyes,, lips,, hands,, feet,, and a tiny chest,, little hips,, and small shoulders..

Researchers at Baylor University have found that children deprived of touch,, play,, and interaction with others have BRAINs 20-30% smaller than normal for their age.. Child abuse can inhibit BRAIN development in a child and permanently negatively affect BRAIN development.. During the first few weeks of life,, a babbling baby utters almost every sound of every known language.. Later,, the ability to make some sounds vanishes,, which is a case of neural pruning..

Some interesting facts about our BRAIN:

1.      Our BRAIN is made up of about 75% water..
2.     We were taught that humans only use 10% of their BRAIN & then know that is just a myth.. Scientists can attribute a function to each part of the BRAIN..
3.     Our BRAIN weighs about 3 pounds..
4.     There are no pain receptors in the BRAIN,, so the BRAIN can feel no pain..
5.     Our cerebrum is the largest part of our BRAIN & makes up about 85% of the BRAIN’s weight..
6.     Our BRAIN consists of about 60% white matter and 40% gray matter..
7.     Our BRAIN made up with 100 billion neurons..
8.     For each one of those neurons,, there are anywhere from 1,,000 to 10,,000 synapses..
9.     The cerebral cortex grows thicker the more it is used..
10.   It is believed that yawning sends more oxygen to the BRAIN,, therefore working to cool it down & stimulate it..

Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Analysis is an integration of BRAIN science,, genetics,, psychology & behavioural science.. More than 5 centuries of observation & study of genetics,, total numbers & distribution of Neuron cell counts,, is reflected in the patterns on our fingerprints.. According to the researchers,, our fingerprints shows different kinds of characteristics,, even the fingerprints of identical twins were totally different.. The fingerprints of an individual will same even after injury as long as the injury has not destroyed the cells..

Medical researchers with observation,, their clinical experiences & other methods,, confirmed that our fingerprints provides accurate analysis of an individual’s innate intelligence,, personality,, learning style & potential.. The researchers & experts,, who study Dermatoglyphics,, believe that our fingerprints were mirror image of embryonic nerves,, which reflects an individual’s genetic & innate potential..

If we know our actual potential & nurture,, it will tremendously help us in terms of career,, manage our emotions,, increase concentration & improve other skills.. Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Analysis is based on the formation & number of ridges on the fingerprints.. Through this analysis we will get to know our preferred style of learning & thinking..

Every person in this world has their unique fingerprints.. Our fingerprint grows simultaneously with our BRAIN.. Each finger represents a different ability in us & each pattern describes different definition.. Researchers prove that the accuracy rate of Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Analysis is above 90%..
