Behind any activity perform by our body there are many
simultaneous & complex actions done by different parts of our BRAIN.. The anatomical
divisions of the cerebral hemispheres are the Occipital Lobe devoted to vision,,
& the Parietal Lobe dealing with movement,, position,, orientation &
calculation.. Behind the ears Temporal Lobes lies which deals with sound &
speech comprehension.. And to the fore are the Frontal & Prefrontal Lobes,,
often considered the most highly developed and most "human" of
regions,, dealing with the most complex activities like thought,, decision
making,, planning,, conceptualising,, attention control and working memory..
They also deal with complex social emotions such as regret & sympathy..
Another
way to classify the regions is as sensory & motor cortex which controls incoming
information,, and outgoing behaviour respectively.. Below the cerebral
hemispheres,, but still referred to as part of the FOREBRAIN,, is the cingulated
cortex,, which deals with directing behaviour & pain.. And beneath this
lies the corpus callosum,, which connects the two sides of the BRAIN.. Other
important areas of the FOREBRAIN are the basal ganglia,, which is responsible
for motivation,, movement & reward..
