ABOUT OUR BRAINS
Weight (approx.):

Dog's BRAIN -> 80 Grams
Chimpanzee's BRAIN -> 400 Grams
Human Adult's BRAIN -> 1300 - 1400 Grams
Sperm Whale's BRAIN - > 2000 Grams
Dolphin's BRAIN -> 8000 Grams

Our BRAIN consist of:

Water  - > 80%
Fat  -> 10%
Protein  -> 2%

Cerebral Cortex

-> Is a sheet of folded neural tissues, about the size of a newspaper..

-> A nerve cell, also known as neuron, is linked by a nerve fiber that is about the length of 25 times the circumference of the earth..

-> Corpus Callosum: is a wide flat bundle of 250 million neural fibers..

Two types of Nerve Cells:

1. Neurons (10%): A human's BRAIN has 100 billion neurons, we lose about 50 to 100 thousand neurons a day due to degenerating..

2. Glial Cells, sometimes called Neuralgia (90%): A human's BRAIN has 1 trillion glial cells..

Cells:

100 billion neurons   ->   10's trillion synapses   ->   can process 10 ^ 27 data in a second..

*Intelligence & neurons: An increase in the number of synapses on a neuron decrease the number of neuron loss in degeneration..

The BRAIN is the 2% of the entire human body..
But 20% of the energy used..

The Main Energy source of the BRAIN:

BLOOD     ->     Glucose
30 Ltr./hour         Protein
720 Ltr./day        Micro nutrients
                           Oxygen (1/5 of the body need)
                           Water
